MCSI Outpatients
What to Expect at Your Outpatient Appointment
The appointment is to assess your health & wellbeing post your spinal injury.
We endeavour to complete a thorough assessment. This will include assessment by the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) including nursing team, physiotherapy team and medical team.
Where applicable an ultrasound of your kidneys and bladder will be performed, and we ask you to come in with a full bladder for these appointments.
Due to the complexity of these appointments, it can take up to 2 hours on some occasions for all the assessments to be completed.
Please ensure if you are booking transport that you advise them of the time frame and ensure they understand that this is a return journey. (Ambulance Transport Numbers can be found at the bottom of the page).
Non-independent patients must come with an escort, who is able to administer all medical diet and fluids. Patients who lack capacity must have either carer able to advocate for their patient or the person holding LPA for health, usually a relative.
