Pharmacy

RJAH strives to deliver an outstanding patient-centred pharmacy service. As experts in medicines, the focus is to ensure safe, timely, and effective use of medicines. The highly trained team of pharmacy staff are constantly seeking to develop new and improved ways of working to support the Trust in delivering high-quality care.

The Pharmacy Service has strong links to primary care and other providers of NHS services across the region. The team are core members of the joint formulary and integrated medicines committee in Shropshire.

The department is made up of a small team of around 30 people. These include pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, Medicines safety officer, pharmacy assistants, and administration staff. All our staff work conscientiously to provide a range of services to patients and the Trust, from supplying medicines to wards and clinics, to providing clinical input and guidance to medical teams.

The Trust is committed to ensuring the optimal use of medicines.

The RJAH Pharmacy Service and premises is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and continues to pass each external inspection without concern.
