Ludlow Ward

Patients needing specialist orthopaedic treatment, at a time convenient to them, can take advantage of the world renowned services available at RJAH.

The Ludlow Unit is a dedicated private patients unit offering services to patients in need of orthopaedic surgery such as hand, knee, shoulder, hip, spine, foot and ankle surgery.

All clinicians at the Ludlow Unit in Oswestry specialise in musculoskeletal conditions and are supported by orthopaedically trained nurses to provide the highest standards of care of patients.

With 16 private en-suite rooms, which are tastefully decorated, with their own flat-screened colour television with access to sky, direct dial telephone, internet and facsimile access and nurse call system, the Unit is committed to making a patient's stay as comfortable as possible. It would be preferred that patients do not receive flowers in line with Trust Policy.

The Ludlow Unit benefits from being based at one of the country's leading specialist hospitals, which provides unique operating theatres with ultra clean air, contributing to its excellent reputation for consistently low infection rates.

The Unit offers a highly competitively pricing system for the non-insured patient, and although is part of an NHS hospital, all private patient work is in addition to and not instead of regular NHS treatment.

Unlike other private hospitals, the income generated from the Ludlow Unit makes a considerable contribution to the running costs of the hospital and benefits all patients and staff
