Joint School

Joint School is an informative session to help you prepare for surgery, ran by a nurse and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

This session is mandatory, alongside a pre-operative appointment, for all patients having a hip or knee replacement. Where the team can, these appointments will be the same date however please note this may not always be possible. 

You will receive a telephone call or letter confirming these appointments. 

During Joint School, you will be:

• given information regarding your surgery
• told what to expect when in hospital
• advised the estimated recovery period
• guided on how best to prepare for your upcoming operation

We will also be able to answer any questions around your surgery and rehabilitation.
