Q1. What will happen at my first appointment?
The clinician will introduce themselves and show you to an individual clinic room. They will ask you a variety of specific questions and then examine you to find out what is wrong.
Further diagnostic tests may be required and the clinician will refer you for these after discussion with you.
Once the assessment is completed the clinician will explain the problem you have and advise you on the management options.
The options may include advice on self -management and exercises, injections, acupuncture, provision of aids etc. Referral to a hospital consultant may also be indicated.
If another MSST appointment is required, this will be arranged before you leave. This appointment may be with the clinician you have seen or another from the team depending on the problem you have.
