Dr Longfellow's interests include regional anaesthesia for upper limb surgery, nerve infusion catheters for post-operative analgesia, medical education and patient safety.
Dr Longfellow achieved her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree from the University of Edinburgh in 1998. She completed her Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCA) examination in 2006 and her Diploma in Medical Education in 2011.
In 2011, she was appointed to RJAH.

She completed her anaesthetic training in Manchester and Nottingham. Dr Longfellow was also the Trust's Associate Medical Director from 2019 - 2021. In April 2021, she became the Chief Medical Officer.
