Interests of Dr Jones include anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery, pre-operative assessment and optimisation, advanced airways techniques and human factors in healthcare.
In 1991, Dr Jones achieved his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from the University of Birmingham in 1991. He has also completed the Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCA) examination.
In 2002, Dr Jones joined the former Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust which is now part of the Univeristy Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
In 2012, Dr Jones joined RJAH.

Dr Jones completed his anaesthetic training in the West Midlands and also completed his post-training in Oregon, USA for 2 years. He is the Clinical Director for Anaesthesia at RJAH.
