RJAH’s Path of Positivity featured in national magazine

A unique wellbeing space at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) has been celebrated in a national magazine, shining a spotlight on the hospital’s commitment to enhancing patient care and experience.
The Path of Positivity, an outdoor walkway created during the pandemic to support the wellbeing of the RJAH community, has been featured in Women & Home magazine as part of a nationwide article on NHS Charities Together.
The article tells the story of patient Kris Haines, who spent time at the Oswestry-based hospital following an unexpected injury. During his rehabilitation, he and his family benefited greatly from the Path of Positivity.
Kris described the path as “a real gem” that gave him “a sense of normality” during a difficult period of hospital treatment.
The Path was made possible thanks to funding from NHS Charities Together, in partnership with RJAH Charity. It has since become a valued haven for patients and their families – offering space to reconnect, reflect and recover away from the clinical setting.
Victoria Sugden, Charity Director, said: “We are delighted that the Path of Positivity has gained national recognition. It is a wonderful example of how charitable support can transform the patient experience at RJAH, and we are so proud to see the difference it makes every day.”
The RJAH Charity team are currently running short surveys to gather feedback and gain a better understanding of the latest features along the Path of Positivity.
QR codes can be found in specific areas on the path, helping to capture the views of staff, patients and visitors.
Even completing just one survey provides valuable insight into how the features are experienced, as well as giving people the opportunity to share ideas for future developments.
