Introducing our new appoint text reminder service
Posted: 14 Jul 2026
The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital is set to further enhance the way it communicates with patients – with the rollout of a new appointment text reminder service in association with our digital partner, DrDoctor.
Patients with an upcoming appointment at RJAH can start to expect text reminders from tomorrow (Wednesday 15 July) onwards. Patients will receive an automated reminder about their upcoming appointment and will be able to confirm their attendance or request to rearrange their appointment if required.
This service was first trialled last autumn across specific specialities at the hospital, but is now going live across all services.
You will receive text messages from this RJAH trusted number: +44 7860 039092.
Rest assured, this is a genuine and secure number. Please note, you cannot reply to this number.
You can also log on to the DrDoctor online patient portal, where you can view your appointments, and access any assessments or questions the hospital has sent you. For many of our specialities, you are also able to view and download appointment letters.
DrDoctor is a patient engagement platform that enables patients to receive appointment-related communications digitally via their mobile phone or other devices. The platform is already used by dozens of NHS trusts across the country and DrDoctor has supported RJAH for many years by helping us stay in touch with patients and confirm whether appointments were still required.
