HCA Recruitment Event

Exciting Healthcare Assistant roles at one of the best hospitals in the country will be in the spotlight at two special Recruitment Days next month.

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital will be staging the events on Saturday 7 November (10am – 1pm) and Thursday 12 November (2pm – 3pm), in a bid to strengthen its world class team on the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries (MCSI). Places must be reserved in advance, so early booking is advised.

Experience in a care role would be an advantage, but is not essential as suitable candidates could be supported to achieve the necessary Care Certificate.

The role would see successful applicants working in one of the most highly-regarded spinal injuries units in the country.

Anyone attending must book in advance via MedTribe. Bookings will be available within one hour windows, and you must attend on the window you have booked for on the day.

Places will be strictly limited, and the opportunity to apply for available posts will be restricted to event attendees, so early booking is strongly encouraged for anyone who is interested. Once all places are booked, there will be no further opportunities to attend the day.

The event will be staged in MCSI, with candidates having the opportunity to tour the space and see the environment they would be working in should they join the team.

Members of staff will be on hand to talk to attendees about their experience of working in the spinal injuries unit, and to answer any questions.

Anyone then wishing to proceed with an application will be sent a link after the event so that they can complete an online application form, with a virtual interview to follow within a week.

Lauren Hutchinson, Nurse Manager on MCSI, said: “The spinal injuries unit is a fantastic place to work and we have a terrific team. Spinal injuries nursing is a specialist skill, so anyone joining the team as a HCA would acquire a breadth of those specialist skills.

"There are excellent development opportunities across the whole unit, which comprises of both an outpatient and an inpatient department. You'd get good opportunities for networking as well, as we are well connected with the other specialist spinal injuries units across the country."

The event will give an insight of what it is like to work in an organisation rated Good by the Care Quality Commission and – as shown in the latest Adult Inpatient Survey – is No 1 for overall patient experience in England.

Potential candidates can find out more about working at RJAH by visiting www.rjah.nhs.uk/work-with-us.

Stacey Keegan, Chief Executive at RJAH, said: “This is a fantastic place to work, and I am extremely proud of the incredible feedback we get from our patients, who tell us regularly about the huge impact we make on their quality of life.

“RJAH is a growing hospital and we want to bring in the best people to help us on our journey.

“I never cease to be inspired by the compassion, the care, and the skill of our spinal injuries team, and I look forward to these events helping us to develop even further.”
