Victoria Sugden

Stakeholder Governor - Lead Governor

Victoria is currently the Charity Director for the League of Friends to RJAH who she has worked for since 2014.

Over the past few years, the League of Friends has grown and developed immensely – they provide a number of services across RJAH including the Post Office, Coffee Shop, Shop, Disabled Swimming Club and Helpdesks as well as supporting some of the most vulnerable patients.  The League of Friends also has 14 active branches across Shropshire and North Wales whose committees fundraise and promote awareness for the hospital.

Victoria describes the League of Friends of being ‘at the heart of the hospital’ due to the support and compassion they provide to patients, visitors and staff as well as the larger monetary donations, which is used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for the benefit of both patients and staff.

Due to her role with the League of Friends, she is often out and about talking to people in the local community who give her feedback on the hospital. In her role as a Public Governor, Victoria plans to take this feedback to the Council of Governors to help consistently improve services and patient experience at RJAH.

In 2019, Victoria was elected Public Governor for Shropshire. In 2022, she became a Stakeholder Governor for RJAH Voluntary Services Committee.
