Gill Pitcher
Public Governor - Shropshire
Gill joined the Council of Governors again in 2025, after previously serving as a Governor for the Trust.
Gill has lived in Shropshire for 28 years and has a grown-up family and a 5-year-old grandson. She worked at the hospital for over 15 years within the Therapy Department, culminating in the role of Therapy Manager. She qualified as a physiotherapist in 1985 and worked within the NHS until 2011 when she left to work alongside her husband in the family business.
Gill and her close family and friends have experienced the care at the hospital, both as in- and outpatients. She therefore feels that she can make a difference as a governor and bring perspective from all sides.
She believes that RJAH is a special hospital with excellent staff. She would like to be able to work, on behalf of the Shropshire members, to ensure that the quality of care exceeds expectations and that everyone continues to strive for the best possible outcomes.
Within the current climate, there are lots of challenges for the NHS and Gill hopes that she can help in some way to deal with them, and make this hospital even bigger and better.
