Colin Chapman

Public Governor - Shropshire

Colin has had a long standing association with RJAH, which commenced back in the 1970s when he trained as a State Enrolled Nurse and worked at the hospital for around 15 months. In 1976, Colin went on to complete his orthopaedic training before leaving RJAH to work in a number of other organisations.

Colin returned to RJAH in 1988 as a Staff Nurse in Theatre and then was promoted to a Charge Nurse. He then commenced training to become a Nurse First Assistant to the surgeon, before commencing his last role as a Nurse Practitioner for the Foot and Ankle Team which Colin held until June 2016 when he retired.

Colin realised how much he missed the patients and therefore applied for the Governor role, to continue the wonderful association and to see the many decisions that have been taken to allow RJAH to provide excellent care to a wide catchment area.
