Language Support

RJAH aims to ensure that communication across language and culture is carried out consistently, competently and impartially to patients, relatives and carers where English is not their first or preferred language.

We will ensure that there is a provision of a professional interpreting service which covers all areas where the Trust has a statutory duty of care and responsibility when caring for a patient who does not speak English. This includes patients who communicate using the British Sign Language (BSL) and lip reading.
