What is Gout?

Gout is a form of arthritis that affects anyone but men are more likely to be affected than women in middle age. It happens in people who have too much uric acid. It is characterized by sudden, severe attacks of pain, redness and tenderness in joints, often the joint at the base of the big toe. Although it can also affect other joints such as the ankles, knees, wrists too. 
 

Treatment

Fortunately, gout is treatable, and there are ways to reduce the recurrence of gout.
