2025 Council of Governor nominations open at RJAH
Posted: 28 May 2025

People across Shropshire, North Wales and Powys are being encouraged to help shape the future of local healthcare by joining the Council of Governors at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.
With three vacancies open to nomination, Shropshire’s specialist orthopaedic hospital is inviting those with a passion for patient care and to represent their community in shaping services.
Harry Turner, Trust Chairman, said: “As a Foundation Trust, we have the flexibility to provide health services that our communities need, and our elected Governors play a crucial role in ensuring the views of the wider community are taken into account in providing and developing services.”
“The Governors are responsible for overseeing how the Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) hold the Board of Directors and Senior Leaders to account – a close working relationship between the Governors and NEDs is vital to ensure the Trust delivers world class patient care.”
We have the following vacancies:
- Shropshire – one vacancy
- North Wales – one vacancy
- Powys – one vacancy
All new successful applicants will be in office for three years with any re-elected applicants’ term of office brought in line with the Trust’s Constitution. The role of Governor is a voluntary position and is unpaid.
