William Greenwood

Public Governor - Powys

William spent 44 years working for the NHS in a variety of management and finance roles before retiring in 2008. During his career, William had Director and Chief Executive roles in a number of NHS organisations and also spent three years as the Head of the Foundation Trust programme for Trusts in the North West of England, reviewing business and financial plans and leading the approval process.

William is currently works part-time as the Chief Executive and Company Secretary of Cheshire Local Medial Committee where he uses his expertise in primary care contracts and development to support 700 GPs in Cheshire. 

He has also previously held a number of voluntary roles in the hospice and social enterprise sectors and has a keen interest in primary care, mental health and veterans’ health services.

William has lived in Powys for the last 3 years with his wife, Carol, and hopes to ensure RJAH continues to provide the best possible service for patients and their families and to maintain its reputation through it’s staff.
