Wrekin ward primarily looks after patients in the acute phase following spinal cord injury (six to eight weeks after injury).

There are 15 beds, seven of which are single side rooms.

We have a dedicated team of consultants, doctors, psychologists, resettlement team physiotherapists and occupational therapists that will be involved in your care from the time you are referred to the centre.

We believe that care should be essentially patient centered, provided in a safe and caring environment and should achieve acceptable standards of quality and excellence. Any injury to the back or neck is serious and it is important that patients take the advice of the medical and nursing staff.

Each patient is unique as an individual and will require different equipment and treatment depending upon their personal needs.

We realise that this can be a difficult time and whilst we do not know exactly how this would feel, we try to put ourselves in the same situation and visualize how we would like to be talked to and cared for.

Please note, we have limited storage space available.

Visiting Times

Visiting is permitted on the ward throughout the day between:

11am - 8pm

We ask that our patients have protected meal times.
