Our Trust has started using a new Patient Engagement Portal (PEP) from DrDoctor. It helps us share more information in the NHS App.

If your appointment is with a service that uses PEP, you will get a notification in the NHS App when your appointment is booked. You will also get a link to your appointment letter. For some appointments, you may be able to ask to change the date or time in the NHS App.

Please turn on notifications on the NHS app so you don't miss updates about your appointment. Find out more here on the NHS website. 

PEP will also send reminders in the days before your appointment. If you need to, you can use text message to let us know you can't attend your appointment.

You will see appointment messages in the NHS app first. If you don't open the message in the app, or if you don't have the app, we will send a message to the phone number we have for you.

PEP also lets us text you if an earlier appointment becomes available, or if we need to make changes at short notice.

All texts from the Trust will be sent from 07860 039092. This is a real number. Please save it in your phone contacts so you know the message is from the hospital.

PEP is here to make it easier for patients. It helps you get updates faster and can help reduce missed appointments. Digital letters mean you can see your appointment details straight away. It also helps the NHS save money by using less paper and fewer postage costs.

Rolling out in stages

We are introducing PEP step-by-step. Right now, it is only for some appointment types in some Trust services. While we set it up for more services, you may get both digital messages and paper letters.
