Dr Neil's interests include regional anaesthesia, anaesthesia for joint replacement surgery, critical care, and quality and safety, including using digital systems to improve patient care.

Dr Neil gained his Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMedSci) and his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Nottingham in 1999. He's also completed the Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetics (FRCA) examination.

Dr Neil was appointed to RJAH in 2012.

Dr Neil completed his anaesthetic training in Swindon, Reading and Stoke. He is the Trust's Clinical Lead for Learning from Deaths, a Medical Examiner at another Trust, the Trust’s Deputy Chief Clinical Information Officer, the Anaesthetic departments Critical Care Lead, and Lead Anaesthetist for the Veterans' Orthopaedic Service.
