Paris Bartley

Name, age and where do you live: My name is Paris Bartley, I’m 26 and I live in Wrexham with my boyfriend and our working cocker spaniel, Jack.
Tell us about your career history and background: I started working at RJAH in 2014 as an Apprentice Healthcare Assistant on Alice Ward, the dedicated children’s inpatient ward. During this time, I also worked as a bank HCA to gain more experience on different wards within the Trust. After completing my yearlong apprenticeship, I was offered a permanent position on the Children’s Unit – this means I work in both in Children’s Outpatients as well as Alice Ward.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role as Trainee Nurse Associate: I have adored my role as a HCA and am excited to progress to this new role. I am particularly looking forward to getting back into education. which I know will come with its challenges, however I feel I am ready to face these head on.
What has helped you progress your career at RJAH: I have been very lucky to have spent the last 7 years working with a very supportive team who always encourage each other to learn, gain skills and progress in their roles. Everyone on the Children’s Unit has helped me to grow in confidence and inspired me to undertake the Trainee Nurse Associate role.
What do you do in your spare time/any hobbies: I enjoy being outdoors, going on hikes with my dog and trying new activities like paddle boarding and kayaking.
