Louise latest Health Hero for providing endless support

A dedicated member of the Finance Team at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital is the latest recipient of the monthly Health Hero Award in recognition of her support to the Orthotics Department.

Louise Wakefield, an Assistant Business Partner who works in the Diagnostics division of the Finance team, received two nominations.

They came from Jane Dewsbury and Jackie Davies, who are part of the Orthotics department at the Oswestry-based hospital.

The Orthotics department helps treat and rehabilitate patients by providing braces, specialist footwear and orthoses to aid movement, correct deformities and relieve discomfort.

Jane, Principle Orthotist, said: “Louise has provided endless support and vast amounts of work to assist Orthotics when undertaking any procurement projects.”

Jackie, Orthotics Oracle Administrator, said: “She’s extremely helpful and has always supported me with any finance issues and queries I may have.

“She goes above and beyond with the help and support she gives to the whole department.”

Mark Brandreth, Chief Executive, presented Louise with a special badge, certificate and also a box of fresh fruit and vegetables from Box of Goodness, a local fruit and vegetable company who have a stall at RJAH four times a week.

Box of Goodness have pledged to donate a box every month to go to the Health Hero winner.

Louise said: “I’m really overwhelmed – I had absolutely no idea, but I’m beyond appreciative to Jane and Jackie for nominating me, so a huge thanks to them.

“Orthotics are a great team and I love working closely with them.”

Mark said: “Teams like Finance tend to work under the radar with little appreciation for the involvement they have on our day-to-day operations, when the reality is, we would struggle to function effectively without them.

“Louise being October’s Health Hero is also extra special, as she was nominated by members of our clinical staff, which is really nice.

“A huge well done to Louise – she is an asset to the Trust and I’m delighted she’s part of our team.”
