Nationwide charity Horatio’s Garden are opening their doors this year, offering the public the opportunity to see the award-winning, fully accessible Midlands Garden at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.

Tours are taking place on selected dates from April to October, as well as a special opening in support of the National Garden Scheme in June.

Horatio’s Garden Midlands at the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries (MCSI) opened in September 2019 after being created by acclaimed journalist and six-time Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winner, Bunny Guinness. It was the fourth of the charity’s garden to open.

Private tours will be led by Alex Law, Head Gardener, and will offer people the chance to explore the rarely opened garden and immerse themselves in the accessible and restorative garden, designed to nurture the wellbeing of those affected by spinal cord injuries.

During the tour, visitors will find out more about the garden’s thoughtful design and learn about the charity’s vision for Horatio’s Garden to be part of all 11 NHS spinal injury centre in the UK.

Tours will cost £20 per person, including a hot beverage and homemade cake. There will also be a range of plants and merchandise for sale.
