Pets Aid Recovery

The Charity, Pets as Therapy (PAT) has begun working with The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RJAH) to help to make patients’ time in hospital feel more like home. Four wards at the hospital will now regularly be receiving visits from PAT volunteers and their dogs.

SDR Sporting Success

Frankie Jones from Welshpool, now 15, had a surgical procedure at Oswestry eight years ago, which has enabled him to play wheelchair basket ball and to continue with golf, both at national level. He is one of 47 selected patients with cerebral palsy at the specialist orthopaedic hospital to have benefitted from selective dorsal rhizotomy surgery, allowing him to lead an independent life.
