Our Trust has an enviable reputation for orthopaedic and specialist surgery - 95% of our patients consistently rate their care as excellent and we are the provider of choice both within and far beyond our catchment area. Our reputation for excellence and strong brand set us apart. This, combined with our central UK location uniquely positions us to develop into the UK’s leading orthopaedic centre. RJAH achieved Foundation Trust status in August 2011 and we are utilizing the benefits that the status brings to further advance and progress the hospital.
The quality of care we provide at RJAH sets us apart from most other hospitals. We want to build on this fantastic reputation and use the freedom offered through our Foundation Trust status to improve services for our patients and further strengthen our relationships with the people who support us. Foundation Trusts are membership organisations and this gives us the best opportunity to work with our patients, our staff and the many people who support us locally and nationally to work in partnership to improve the services we deliver.
We believe we have a strong track record of working in partnership with our local communities. We have an active volunteer base within our hospital whom we work closely with to further improve our services. Many of our volunteers are former patients, relatives and staff, reflecting the levels of engagement and involvement in our hospital. We will continue to build on this foundation as we continually develop our membership and governor structures.
